Leverson "Bubba" Williams Jr., 66, of Fulton, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, January 30, 2017. He was born in Brownfield, Texas on March 26, 1950, the son of the late Leverson Williams Sr. and the late Ethel (Wesley) Terry. On January 1, 1973, Bubba was united in marriage to LaVerne (Piggee) Williams. She survives his passing. Bubba proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He helped many families in the area as the owner of A Reliable Pest Control, always with a kind word and a smile. His hobbies included fishing and sports. Bubba was a man of strong faith. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he was an Adult Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Deacon Board, and member of the Men's Chorus and Cavalier Choir. Spending time with his family always brought him great joy. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years; son, Leverson Lamont Williams (Nakia) of Carrollton, Texas; daughters, LaVelle Curry of Fulton, LaTocha Simmons (Courtney) of Fort Belvoir, Va., and Tina Williams of Texas; godson, Kiandre Robinson of Fulton; special cousin/son, Tommy Fisher (Elaine) of Texas, sisters, Minnie Nell Taulton of Texas, Arnetta Roberson of Colo., Sharon Morgan of Texas, Gail Williams of Texas, and Cordia Owusa of Texas; sister-in-law, Barbara Johnson of Texas; and grandchildren, Victor Vaughn Jr., LeCheyon Williams, LaCheyla Curry, Courtland Simmons, Caira Simmons, Terrean Williams, Lamont Curry. Along with his parents, he will be greeted in heaven by sister, Daisy Hawkins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Lard Andrews officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in Southside Cemetery.
