William Lail Bishop, 82, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017, at his home. Bill was born on October 21, 1934 in Fulton to Charles and Ida Meyer Bishop, who preceded him in death. He was married to Joan Knox on July 16, 1958 and she survives. Bill served in the United States Army in 1957 and achieved the rank of Sergeant before his discharge in 1959. He worked 38 years for MODOT in Jefferson City, Missouri until his retirement. He was a member and Deacon at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fulton and enjoyed quail hunting, baseball games and working in his yard. Bill is also survived by a daughter, Tanna (Scott) Vance of Thompsons Station, Tennessee; and a grandson, Damon Vance of Tennessee. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial with military honors will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
