Don Theodore Holzhauser

Don Theodore Holzhauser, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at his home. He was born on July 30, 1941, in Fulton, the son of the late Richard T. Holzhauser and the late Olive Merle (Burre) Holzhauser. Don was united in marriage to Merrilee J. (Curry) Holzhauser. She survives his passing. Don proudly retired from the United States Air Force after serving his country for 20 years, including time during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Master Sargent. A talented artist, he enjoyed oil painting. Don was an avid golfer. He made a hole-in-one on his 73rd birthday. He loved all animals, especially his dogs. Don was good with his hands and enjoyed remodeling his homes. Those remaining to mourn his passing include: his wife, Merrilee of Jefferson City; daughter, Kimberly Ann Holzhauser (Ricki Ryder) of Fresno, Calif.; step-daughter, Diane Goodman (Terry) of Ky. and their mother, Flora Elizabeth Holzhauser of Victorville, Calif.; brother, Ronald Holzhauser (Judy) of Jefferson City; aunt and uncle, John and Lois Bess of Tebbetts; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Jackie Asher officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment with Military Honors will be in Portland Cemetery.
