Barbara Jane (Garrett) Martin, age 77, of Fulton, left this present world to be with the Lord on Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born on July 20, 1939, in Boone County to Walter T. Garrett and Ruth Jewell (Martin) Garrett. On May 23, 1958, Jane was united in marriage to Larry Joe Martin. Jane was a beautician before setting that aside to raise her children. She made every day special for her family and she loved them beyond measure. She was a lifelong student of the Word of God and a beloved Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton. Her many talents blessed everyone around her. A gifted quilter and seamstress. Jane created many beautiful heirlooms over the years for her family. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband of 58 years; two children, Tina Ann Bartley and husband Roland of Fulton and Joseph Todd Martin and wife Mary of Fulton; three grandchildren, Brittany Humphreys and husband, Johnny, Eli Bartley and wife Brittany and Hannah Bartley, three great-grandchildren, Hadleigh and Porter Humphreys and William Bartley; one brother, Billy Garrett and his wife Alva Jane and one sister, Lenora Clatterbuck, both of Ashland. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Durwood Garrett, Dermont Garrett, Walter Garrett Jr., Bobbie Garrett, Jimmie Garrett, and two sisters, Bonnie Buescher and Bettie Castleman. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, at 11:00 a.m. at New Salem Baptist Church in Ashland, burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or to New Salem Cemetery in care of Robinson Funeral Home, 601 N. Henry Clay Blvd. Ashland Mo. 65010.
