Ina Lorene Baumgartner

Ina Lorene Baumgartner, 88, of Fulton, Mo., passed away immediately after praying to the Lord, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Fulton Manor. Ina was born September 11, 1928, in Dade County, Mo., to Walter and Maude Polston Higgins and they preceded her in death. She was married to Walter Vernon Baumgartner on April 26, 1947, in Barton County, Mo., and he survives. Ina graduated from Golden City High School when she was 16 years old and after moving to Fulton, she worked at the Fulton Theater and also the Fulton Drive-In. She later worked at the Fulton Middle School and as a cook at Millersburg School. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton and was well known for her crochet work and the afghans that she made. Ina received great solace from her daily reading of the Bible. In addition to her husband of 69 years, she is survived by her children, Janet (William) Cook of Centralia, Mo., Vernon Ray Baumgartner of Springfield, Mo., Walter Lee (Judy) Baumgartner of Holts Summit, Mo. and Sherri (Brian) Zajdel of Fulton; brothers, Lloyd (Sandra) Higgins of Granbury, Texas and Gary (Linda) Higgins of Traveler's Rest, S.C.; brother-in-law, Jack Thrasher of Lamar, Mo.; grandchildren, Jackeline Sweezer, Michael Lester, Stephen Lester and Scott Lester; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Murrell and Brandon Sweezer; along with several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Thrasher and Viola Thrasher. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
