Marguerite Elizabeth Roland

Marguerite Elizabeth Roland, age 102, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016. She was born on Sept. 18, 1914 to Dennis and Lena (Albus) Fecht, the oldest of six children. She graduated high school from St. Brendan in 1933. She worked at the Liberty Theatre in Mexico, Mexico Refractories and owned Lays Café and Roland's Cafeteria with her husband Roscoe. She then went on to work as a bookkeeper for Fulton Public Schools and St. Peter's Catholic Church. After she retired, she filled her free time by working for the Missouri Department of Conservation. Marguerite lived a full life and was loved by many. She was affectionately known as Mimi to her grandkids, nieces and nephews. Even some of the nurses at the Manor liked to call her Mimi. She loved dancing and was an avid card player. She is survived by her children, Carol Ann Reifsteck of Mexico, Mark Roland of Columbia, Marsha Arnett (Don) of Auxvasse; a step-daughter, Linda Devry of Kansas City; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Art Grossglouser; one sister-in-law, Katie Fecht; several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Roscoe D. Roland; two brothers, Carl Fecht and Raymond Fecht; three sisters, Anna Louise Young, Helen Persinger Patton and Lois Grossglouser; and one grandson, Vincent Devry. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Mexico with burial to follow at St. Brendan Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church with a prayer service to be held at 12:45 p.m. Memorials are suggested to The Dream Factory, St. Brendan Church, or the donors choice, in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S.
