Mary Katherine Van Sant Conniff

Mary Katherine Van Sant Conniff, age 94, a former Fulton resident, died on September 3, 2016, in Kaneohe, Ohau, Hawaii. She had been in an assisted living center for several years following orthopedic surgery. Mary was the daughter of Thomas H. and Katherine Van Sant of Fulton, Mo. She attended William Woods College and was a graduate of the College of William and Mary, in Virginia. She studied retailing and in the 1940's accepted an invitation to teach that subject in Hawaii, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was married to George W. Conniff. The couple had one child, Kate, who preceded Mary in death. George died several years ago. Immediate survivors include a sister, Frances Green of St. Louis, and brother, James A. Van Sant of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews. Her ashes were spread in the mountains of Oahu, where her husband and daughter are resting.
