Carol Gay Hutchinson, age 77, passed away on November 26, 2016 at her home in Fulton, MO. Carol was born on October 1, 1939 in Boyne City, MI to James and Eleanor Gay. Carol married Richard (Dick) Hutchinson on February 14, 1965. She grew up in Michigan, graduated from Boyne City High School in 1957. Carol worked at the University of Detroit afterwards. After their last child (Guy) was born in Michigan, Carol and family moved to Houston, TX. She worked at NASA for many years, then went to work for the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston as a medical secretary. In her later years, Carol became church secretary at St. Barnabus Church in Houston, TX. After retirement Dick and Carol moved to Missouri to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Carol was church secretary for St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton for a short period of time. Carol enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. She loved to talk on the phone and stay in touch with family and friends. She had a very good listening ear, and loved long reminiscing of old times with anyone who would join in. She read the newspaper daily and had her special TV programs she watched faithfully! She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Tom and Ed, and sister Shirley. Sons Kevin and Ricky, son-in-law Gary and great grandson Aaron. She is survived by her husband Richard (Dick) Hutchinson, Fulton; daughter Gidget Martin, Fulton; sun Guy (Michelle) Hutchinson, Belleville, IL; grandchildren Stephanie, Heather, Clayton, Amanda, Colton, Danielle, Mike, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Arrangements were handled by Heartland Cremation and Burial Society in Columbia, MO. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton on Saturday, December 3 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1703 Plaza Dr., Fulton, MO 65251.
