Roger Dale Slater

Roger Dale Slater, 69, of Auxvasse, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at his home. Roger was born July 15, 1947 in Wellsville, the son of Ernest and Pauline (Bogle) Slater. Mr. Slater served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam War. On November 29, 1969 in St. Charles, he married Carla Brown. She survives along with two sons, Johnnie (Diane) Slater and Bobby (Shannon) Slater, all of Auxvasse; and three granddaughters, Morgan, Jenna and Ella Slater. He was preceded in death by his parents. Roger was an owner/operator truck driver for over 40 years. He enjoyed working fishing, and hunting, and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Roger will be sadly missed by his family and those who knew him. Roger also loved weekends with his family. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30 at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Auxvasse Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children-St. Louis. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S.
