Edward Dale Maddox, 65, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri. Dale was born October 2, 1951, in Fulton to Ben and Hazel Stambaugh Maddox. He was married to Martha Sue "Marty" Moore on May 14, 1977, in Fulton and she preceded him in death in 2010. Dale was a 1970 graduate of South Callaway High School and after graduation he worked for several years at Harbison-Walker in Fulton. He then worked at the Missouri School for the Deaf as a House Parent and Supervisor from 1996 until his retirement in 2013. He recently had worked as a Bus Aid for Fulton Public Schools. In addition to being a member of Church of God Holiness, Dale was a long time board member and he taught Sunday School for approximately 40 years. Dale was a longtime member of the Gideons and a lifetime fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed bluegrass music and spending time visiting with his friends, but his greatest love was sports and watching his son and grandson's ballgames. He is survived by his father, Ben Maddox of Fulton; son, Jon Maddox of Fulton; grandson, Alex Maddox of Fulton; brothers, Roger (Marcia) Maddox of Garland, Texas and Mark (Deawne) Maddox of Peyton, Colorado; sister-in-law, Patricia (Ron) Whittecar of Overland Park, Kansas along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members. Dale was also preceded in death by his mother, Hazel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Church of God Holiness in Fulton. Burial will follow at Steedman Cemetery in Steedman, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
