Frederick Joseph Michael Hosenfelt

Fredrick Joseph Michael "Fred" Hosenfelt, 69, of Fulton passed away at his home on Sunday, May 15, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 16, 1947, in Callaway County, the son of the late Joseph John Hosenfelt and the late Marian Bertha (Klott) Hosenfelt. On May 10, 1990, Fred was united in marriage to Norma Jean Powell. She survives his passing. Fred attended St. Peter Catholic School and graduated from Fulton High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Fred worked many years for Kingdom Feed. He was never a man to sit idly and had many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, cutting wood, picking black walnuts, puzzles and farming. He was good with his hands and enjoyed building bird houses. Fred was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball and football. He was an expert at spoiling his grandchildren. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife, Norma, of 26 years; son, Joseph Hosenfelt of Fulton; daughter, Katie VandenHoek (Tim) of Fulton; step-son, Ronald Wright (Angela) of Llano, Texas; step-daughters, Marilyn Bartley (Pat) and Andrea Taylor (Shawn), all of Mokane; brothers, Albert Hosenfelt (Helen) and David Hosenfelt (Judy), all of Fulton; sisters, Mary Lou Davis (Clark) of Fulton and Nancy Bigsby (Bruce) of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Jacob Wright, Caleb Wright, Savannah Kaskus, Ehlannah Kaskus and Samantha Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Nick Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be in Steedman Cemetery.
