Eugene Earl White

Eugene Earl White, 101 years old, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Fulton Manor in Fulton, Missouri. Eugene was born July 25, 1914, in Topeka, Kansas to Harry and Mary Jackson White who preceded him in death. On June 24, 1939, in Houston, Texas, he married Ada Mae Helmuth, who also preceded him in death in 1996. Eugene served in the United States Army during World War II. After the war he worked as an auto body repairman and on the pipeline for Phillips Petroleum before moving to Fulton, Missouri in 1960. He was a house parent at the Missouri School for the Deaf for several years, then had his own refrigeration repair service until he retired. Eugene was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton, and attended the Richland Baptist Church for several years in later life. He was also an active member of the Gideon's for over 30 years. He was also active in prison ministries and was a volunteer at the Fulton State Hospital. He is survived by his adopted son, Malcolm E White, of San Diego, California; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and older two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Flowers would be greatly appreciated.
