William (Bill) Elgin Dozier, age 90, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 4, 2016, at his home. He was born August 29, 1925 in Guthrie Missouri. Having been raised on a Missouri farm, Bill Dozier characterized his life in his biography as "a Furrow to the Future". As part of 'The Greatest Generation', at 17 he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed on the USS Kadashan Bay CVE-76. During World War II he served as a gunner in five major battles in the Philippines. After the war, he was married to Norma Jean (Cave) Dozier, his New Bloomfield High School sweetheart. Together they had three children, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was the founder of a highly successful bank security corporation and is deeply respected across the industry. He was an innovator in his field and a man of deep faith. Together, he and Norma Jean traveled the world. Their broad experiences enriched their lives and the lives of countless others. He was an artist and the best storyteller, well respected for his wisdom, wit and generosity. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Bill said he had "done it all", but the place he was happiest was on his farm in Missouri. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Norma Jean Dozier; three children; Allyson Paxton and husband Joseph of Fort Worth, Texas, Charles Dozier and wife Cathy of University Park, Texas, and Barbara Powell and husband Robert of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; Jennifer Paxton, Jason Paxton and wife Jamie, Preston Powell and wife Brooke, Sarah Dozier, Madison Norris and husband Dr. Kyle Norris and Mary Dozier and husband Dr. Ben Porter; and three great-grandchildren; Atticus, Gwendolyn, and Lydia.
