Sarah Marie Althaus, 25, of Fulton, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at her home. She was born in Columbia, Mo. on October 17, 1990, the daughter of Christopher Edward Althaus and Kathryn Dale (Detwiler) Althaus. Sarah was a graduate of South Callaway High School. She worked at Moser's for several years before becoming a massage therapist at zouLIFE at MizzouRec. She enjoyed sports and was a pole vaulter, basketball player and softball player. She enjoyed basketball, bowling, camping and bonfires. Picking grapes and dancing were things she loved to do. Sarah was small but feisty and tough, with an outgoing charm, which was most likely attributed to growing up with two older brothers. Family was first and foremost in Sarah's life. She was a doting mother and loving companion. Her loss will forever leave a void in her family and friends lives. Those remaining to mourn her loss include her parents, Chris and Kathy of Fulton; her life partner, Dustin Holman and their son, Preston, of Fulton; brothers, Zachary Althaus (Chelsie) of Fulton and Nathan Althaus (Brittany) of Steedman; Dustin's parents, Lanny D. Holman and Kelly Holman; Dustin's siblings, Kris Holman (Vanessa), Misty Vandeloecht (Dustin), and Donald Holman; grandfather, Don Detwiler of Fulton; nephews, Brayden Althaus, Kassen Althaus, Connor Althaus, Jacob Matthew Holman, and Josiah Holman; nieces, Madison Rene Althaus, Kambree Nicole Vandeloecht, and Ashlyn Rayne Holman; and friends too numerous to mention. Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Sue Althaus and Lois Detwiler. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Richie Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251 for a fund that will be set up for Sarah's son, Preston.
