S.T. Bradford

S.T. Bradford, 78, was called to rest on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the Lenoir Skilled Nursing Center. He was born on August 21, 1935 in Fulton, Mo., to Udell and Daisy Bradford. He was married to his lovely wife, Shirley Mae Bradford, for 51 years on April 7, 1956 in Mexico, Mo. S.T. graduated at Lincoln Institute in Jefferson City, Mo. He received his Associate's Degree at the Kansas Technical Institute in Topeka, Kan. in 1955. He retired after 30 years of employment at General Motors Corporation in Fairfax, Kan. in 1993. S.T. confessed Christ at a very young age at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Fulton, Mo. After college he resided in Indianapolis, Ind. and later moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he became an active Layman and a Deacon at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He and his wife later became the first caretakers of the New Era Camp in Williamsburg, Mo. During this time he transferred his membership and served as Layman and a Deacon at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Fulton, Mo. In 2007 he moved to Columbia, Mo. and resided in The Village at Lenoir Woods in Columbia, Mo. He later became an active member, Layman and Deacon at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his two children: Marsha Bradford (Tyrone) Gethers of Houston, Texas, and Howard Bradford of Moberly, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kamilah Grim of Jackson, Miss., Keith Fleming of Houston, Texas, Daniel Bradford of Kansas City, Mo., and Tiara Dameron of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Marcus Grim III and Kewan Bradford; four step-sisters, Mrs. Frances Ward, Mrs. Myra Coulter, and Ms. Deborah Prince, all of Kansas City, Mo. and Mrs. Karen Galbreath of Jefferson City, Mo. Preceded in death are his wife; father and mother;, his brother Seth Bradford that died at birth; and his step-mother. Mrs. Jessie Bradford. Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Sugar Grove Baptist Church, 5400 E. Sugar Grove Rd. in Columbia, MO. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
