Wilbur Glover

Wilbur Glover, 89, of Fulton, was called home on Sunday, June 15, 2014. He was born on September 24, 1924, the son of Willard Theodore and Margaret "Maggie" (Brown) Glover in Boydsville, Mo. On July 29, 1946, he was united in holy matrimony to Lula Mae Buckner. To this union one son was born, John Marvin Glover Sr. Wilbur joined church at a very young age. He was a lifetime member of Paris Fork United Methodist Church and held the office of treasure and was on the Board of Trustees. He loved his church and always looked forward to the annual basket dinner and the church barbeque. Wilbur loved the outdoor life. For 67 years, he worked for the Wise Brothers Farm. The love he had for the wheat and corn fields was passed on to his son and grandsons. He also had a love for fishing. Wilbur was a lifetime member of the Mason Hiram Lodge #4, Fulton, Mo. Leaving to mourn his death are three brothers, Willard, Russell and Donald, all of Fulton; one sister, Leona Hamilton of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandsons, John Jr. of Holts Summit, Craig of Jefferson City, and Blake (Olga) of Las Cruces, N.M.; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Norma J. Glover of Holts Summit; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Nelson, James and Wendell; two sisters, Allene Logan and Maureen Smith; his wife of 65 years, Lula Mae; and his son, Johnny. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Maupin Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Black and Reverend Charlie Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service with Masonic Rites being held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
