Jackie Major Piles, 84, of Fulton, Missouri, died Sunday, June 15, 2014. He was born in Los Angeles, California on August 11, 1929. He served in the Air Force for six years during the Korean conflict. Jack worked for the union and the coal mines and was a heavy equipment operator for Sterling Excavation retiring at the age of 72. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, gambling, and traveling. He is survived by daughter, Donna and Mike Nichols of Columbia; daughter, Jeannie and Terry Lawrence of Fulton; son, Danny and Connie Piles of Centertown; daughter, Kathy and Mike Gray of Columbia; daughter, Marie Cason of Fulton; daughter, Brenda and Henry Tucker of Fulton; and daughter, Melisa and Jim Bennett of Huntsville. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sim and Florence; sisters, Hattie and Dille; brothers, Donald and Billy; daughter, Carolyn; grandchildren, Shannon, Stacia, and Kevin; great- grandchild, Haleigh, and wife, Mary. There will be a visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia, with funeral ceremony to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
