Clara Eugenia Spires

Mrs. Clara Eugenia Scott Spires, 81, of Clearwater, S.C., passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Clara was born in Clearwater, S.C., on August 24, 1932. Clara enjoyed going to church, playing the piano and organ, cooking and baking and spending time with her family. Clara is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jimmy L. Spires (PTL). Clara is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Gerald (Dana) Spires of Fulton, Mo., and Carey (Hope) Spires of Warrenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Chris (Joy) Spires, Heather Curry, Stephanie (Jordan) Carey, Doug Spires, Kayla Brown, Charity Brown, Shelby Powell, and eight great-grandchildren. Clara will also be affectionately remembered by a brother-in-law, Lester Spires; sister-in-law, Betty Jean Rucker and a host of nieces and nephews. Clara is predeceased by her parent's, Cecil Owen and Gertrude Scott, her son, Robert L. Spires and her sister, Jessima (Jess) Gurley. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 2 o'clock at Warrenville Revival Center, Warrenville, S.C., with Pastor Leroy Beard officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 1 o'clock until the time of service at Warrenville Revival Center. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, S.C. It has been requested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
