Robert J. Kennon

Robert J. "Bob" Kennon, 86, of Auxvasse, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Golden Living Center/Pin Oaks in Mexico, Mo. Bob was born in Callaway County, June 7, 1927, the son of Ernest E. and Ellen (Louden) Kennon. He was married on November 20, 1952, to Betty Jo Hinten in Harrison, Ark. who survives at the home. Bob loved to work on cars and tractors. He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, and loved hunting rabbits and quail. He served in the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged. He retired from A.P. Greens after working there 42 years, retiring in 1989. Survivors include: four sons, Michael (Agnes) Kennon of Auxvasse, Mo., Rob (Gloria) Kennon of Columbia, Mo., Ron (Laura Nell) Kennon of Fulton, Mo. and Patrick (Leslie) Kennon of Columbia, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Morse of Columbia, Mo., and Vickie (Ron) Wallace of Fulton, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, Stacey (Tim) Spinks, Brenda (Jamie) Swaim, April (Mark) Custard, Matthew (Jessica) Sullivan, Heather (Harry) Adams, Seth (Pam) Gaddie, Sarah Gaddie, Bradley (Sarah) Kennon, Tori (Paul) Winkler, Brendan Kennon, Keara Kennon, William Kennon; and 19 great-grandchildren, Travis, Braedon, Caitlyn, Jacob, Liam, Collin, Keagan, Ceiran, Alex, Grace, Alyssa, Addison, Alexis, AíSean, Akai, Keeley, Thomas, Mason, and Elijah. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mae Cox, Mary Meyer, and Faye Franks; three brothers, Ernest Kennon, John Kennon and Billy Kennon; and one grandson, Patrick Michael Sullivan. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Pickering Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery west of Auxvasse. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
