Leona M. Whyte, 90, of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the Fulton Manor in Fulton. She was born on Jan 3, 1923, in Mokane, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Winkelman) Koenig. She was married to Kenneth Whyte who passed away on Feb 1, 1997. Leona was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center and making quilts and helping with the Senior Center Fundraising. Leona was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Leona) Whyte of Fulton and David (Mary Lou) Whyte of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren, Angela (Kevin) Pederson of Carl Junction Mo, Todd (Stephanie) Whyte of Millersburg, and Brian (Stephanie) Whyte of Washington D.C.; and eight great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Antonia Horstman, Rosella Horstman Laughlin, Lovenia Clingman, Gertrude Hockemeyer, have preceded Leona in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat. Oct. 26, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Sat. from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
