John Charles Hinchie

John "Silouan" Charles Hinchie Jr., 53, of Fulton, fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, October 14, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center. He was born May 3, 1960, in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, the son of the late John C. Hinchie, Sr. and Marie A. (Doman) Hinchie. John was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Greek Orthodox Church in Columbia. His hobbies included reading, animals, and playing piano. He enjoyed spending time with his mother and doting on his nieces and nephews. John is survived by his mother, Marie; brother, Bill (Carol) Hinchie of Fulton; nephews, Joshua Hinchie and Joseph Hinchie; and nieces, Angela Hinchie, Mary Hinchie, and Teresa Hinchie. He was preceded in death by his father. The service for the burial of the dead will be held immediately following a Trisagion to be offered in the Narthex of the Church on Thursday, October 17, 2014, at St. Luke the Evangelist Greek Orthodox Church, 1510 Audubon, Columbia, Mo., with Father Michael Monos officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Greek Orthodox Church, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, Mo. 65251.
