Jean Russell Buss, 78, of Fulton, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her home. She was born March 10, 1935, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Robert William and Dorothy (Herbst) Russell Grigsby. Jean was a teacher and worked in the St. Louis school system and later for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton and a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crafting and reading. Left to cherish her memory are her her daughters, Deborah Laughlin and her husband Mike of Fulton, Jane Hilboldt and her husband Dennis of Chesterfield, and Dorothy Buss of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Molly Hanley and her husband Josh of Mexico, and Libby, Peter, and Julie Hilboldt of Chesterfield; and great-grandchildren Riley and Lauren Hanley of Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William and Robert Russell. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Dr. Gary Shultz officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
