Mary Carolyn Williams Woods, 90, of Auxvasse, departed this life on Thursday, March 7, 2013. Mary was united in marriage to William "Dick" Woods on June 19, 1948, in Lindenwood, Ill., and he preceded her in death in 1982. In 1951 they bought a farm near Auxvasse, where Mary resided until November 2012. Mary loved the outdoors. She continued farming after her husband's death and was featured in a May 1990 issue of the Missouri Ruralist and a 1994 issue of Progressive Farmer. After retiring from active farming, she continued to enjoy outdoors by mowing several acres of her land. Mary was a member of the Auxvasse City Presbyterian Church and also attended Grand Prairie Baptist Church. She was a member of Gideons International, as well. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Jane Hooker and husband Rick, of Auxvasse and Carol Woods of Columbia. In addition, she will be lovingly remembered by her grandson, Justin Gage and fiancÈ, Cadri Cunningham, and their son Jason Carter Gage of St. Charles; and granddaughter, Ashley Gage and her husband Brandon Waterman of Columbia. She is also survived by a nephew, Roger Williams and his wife Cheryl of Albert Lea, Minn., and their daughter Jarae Housley of Seattle, Wash. Mary was preceded in death by her brother Jack and his wife Joyce, along with their son, Dee Williams, all of Lindenwood, Ill. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Jim Graham officiating. Interment will follow in Auxvasse Cemetery. In lieu of customary memorials, the family suggests donations be made in Mary's name to the Alzheimer's Association, c/o Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
