Larry E. Dungan, 68, a lifelong resident of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his home. surrounded by his family after a very brief battle with cancer. He was born September 7, 1944, in Fulton, the son of the late Kenneth Paul Dungan and Mary Alice (Danuser) Dungan. Larry was an American Family Insurance agent for 28 years in Fulton. He retired in 2009 to enjoy his family and leisure time at the lake. Larry was a positive influence to everyone around him and truly has never met a stranger. Even at the time of facing the extreme trials of this battle, he always had a positive attitude to the point of apologizing to the doctors that had to deliver the inevitable news to him. Even when being given the worst possible news, he was completely at peace due to his unwavering faith in God. As he stated, he would either be healed here or in Heaven. Even in his final trials, he was an example that we will always live by. He will forever be with us and dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Judy; and two daughters, Tammy Davidson (Robert) of Mokane, and Terri Fitzgerald of Chatham, Ill.; one son, Jeff Dungan (Dana) of Fulton; 10 grandchildren; one brother; and his mother. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Minister Brent Newton officiating.
