James S. Summers, 96, of Fulton, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Presbyterian Manor in Fulton. He was born December 18, 1916, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late John H. and Louise S. (Sanns) Summers. Jim taught Biology at William Woods University for 42 years, retiring Professor Emeritus in 1994. He continued to reside on the William Woods University campus following retirement, remaining a part of the WWU community. He was a member of St. Alban's Church, Beta Theta Pi, and Kiwanis Club of Fulton. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Harriett Summers of Sarasota, Fla.; nephew, Tim Summers and his wife Carmie of Naperville, Ill.; and niece, Nancy Pollack and her husband A. J. of Columbus, Ohio. His parents and one brother, Thomas S. Summers, preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013, at St. Alban's Church with Pastor Marshall Crossnoe officiating.
