Sarah Daisy (Brown) Buckner

Sarah Daisy (Brown) Buckner, 81, of Auxvasse, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013, at Audrain Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1931, in Auxvasse, the daughter of the late James R. Brown and the late Sarah Willie (Galbreath) Brown. Sarah was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, working, spending time with family and friends, and riding around the countryside. Sarah loved to cook and enjoyed changing and experimenting with recipes. Sarah will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter, Sarah Britt of Fulton; one brother, William H. Brown of Auxvasse; two sisters, Nadine Mozee of St. Charles, and Josephine (Arnold) Thomas, of Miami, Fla.; five grandchildren, Robert L. Monroe Jr., Ronald Lee Monroe, Christina Nicole Monroe, and Ralph Buckner's children- Ralph and Tamika and their children; and two great-grandchildren, Robert L. Monroe III and Georgia Mae Monroe. In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by one son, Ralph C. Buckner; two brothers, Clifford Brown and James F. Brown; and one sister, Erma West. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Warren officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
