Walden W. Hayes

Walden W. "Jack" Hayes, 96, of Fulton, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Callaway Community Hospital. He was born June 3, 1916, in Spiro, Okla., the son of the late Earl and Pearl (Brown) Hayes. He was united in marriage to Barbara Curtis on July 11, 1959. She survives at their home. Jack proudly served his country during World War II as a United States Marine. He worked at Cooke Sales and Service for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Born with a need for speed, Jack enjoyed racing cars as well as boats. Many will remember him as the former owner of the Yellow Submarine. Left to cherish Jack's memory is his wife of 54 years, Barbara Hayes; daughter, Jackie Glover and her husband Doug of Mokane; grandchildren, Steven Stark, Kevin Stark, Jackson Glover, Harry Glover, and Piper Glover; and great-grandchildren, Rachel Stark, Adam Stark, and Dane Stark. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Patricia Ramsey; one brother; and one sister. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
