Elmer L. Pugh, 88, of Fulton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 22, 2013. He was born February 17, 1925, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of the late Elmer L. Pugh, Sr. and Pearl (Boling) Pugh. Elmer was united in marriage to Florence White on May 11, 1946, in Kentucky. She survives at their home. Elmer proudly served his country in the United States Marines during World War II. He worked as an Area Production Manager at Harbison Walker until his retirement in 1990. A man of faith, Elmer attended the Church of Christ in Fulton. In years past, he enjoyed golfing at Fulton Country Club. He had a talent for detailed woodworking. Elmer enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. He found great pleasure in spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. They often played card games together. Elmer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Florence; son, Phil Pugh and his wife Terri of Fulton; daughter Kathy Hinze and her husband Larry of Greenville, S.C.; sisters, Betty Turner, and Shirley Bryant and her husband Russell, all of Port Clinton, Ohio; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie Goehringer; granddaughter, Stephanie Taylor; and five brothers. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Minister Thurman Hux officiating. In lieu of customary memorials, the family suggests donations be made in Elmer's name to the Alzheimer's Association, c/o Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, MO 65251.
