Doyle Reese Windsor, 99, of Windsor Valley, southeast of Williamsburg, Mo., died on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Fulton Nursing and Rehab in Fulton, Mo. Doyle Reese Windsor was born May 7, 1913, in Callaway County, Mo., to Clifford Crump Windsor and Idabel Love Windsor. He married Jewell Covington on August 19, 1937, in Mineola, Mo. Mrs. Windsor preceded him in death on January 26, 1996. Mr. Windsor was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church and later attended Mineola Baptist Church. Mr. Windsor was self-employed farmer who worked very hard and was a former member of Farm Bureau and MFA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, going to the Montgomery or Fulton Senior Centers and attending their dances. Mr. Windsor is survived by two daughters: Juanita Tate and husband, Thompson, of Silverthorne, Colo.; and Mary Belle Starkey of Windsor Valley, Mo.; seven grandchildren: Douglas Tate and wife, Lisa, of Denver, Colo.; Scott Starkey and wife, Janette, of Windsor Valley, Mo.; Eric Starkey and wife, Jodi, of Windsor Valley, Mo.; Jennifer Currence and husband, Kevin, of Olathe, Kan.; Kenneth Harris of New Florence, Mo.; Randy Harris of Inez, Texas; and Bradley Harris and wife, Mandy, of Mineola, Mo.; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Windsor is also survived by one son-in-law, Larry Wade of Arizona; one brother, Rea Windsor of Fulton; one sister, Peggy Smith, of Jefferson City, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Windsor was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jewell Covington Windsor; daughter, Dianne Wade; son-in-law, Don Starkey; two brothers: Ogden Windsor and Mason Windsor; and two sisters: Ruby Koupal and Virginia Tate. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Mo. The Reverend Jim Cline will officiate and interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Williamsburg, Mo. Visitation will be on Sunday from noon until the time of the service at the Schlanker Funeral Home. Casketbearers will include Douglas Tate, Scott Starkey, Eric Starkey, Kenneth Harris, Bradley Harris, and Gary Windsor.
