Marjorie Dean Gohring

Marjorie Dean Gohring, age 83, of Fulton, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013, in Fulton. She was born January 13, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo., to the late Frank Oliver Sanders and Marie Glenn Newman Sanders. She was married to Bobby E. Gohring on August 24, 1951, in New Brunswick, New Jersey at the First Baptist Church. Marjorie graduated from Noel High School in 1948 and then moved to Fulton in 1949 with her parents who were teachers at MSD. She joined her husband, who was serving overseas in the United States Air Force. They lived at various stations within the states and abroad during his career with the Air Force. While she did various part-time jobs, Marjorie's main job was that of stay-at-home Mom. Upon retirement, Bobby and Marjorie returned to Fulton where she was employed at Fulton Savings Bank and later Central Bank for 27 years. She was baptized into the Baptist Church of Noel, Missouri at an early age where she remained a member. Survivors include a son, Gary E. Gohring of La Jolla, Calif. and locally by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kermit and Oni Gohring. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Dorothea C. Clark and Patti Jane McCullough. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made in Marjorie's name to Hospice Compassus, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, MO 65251.
