Douglas Dean Ward, 59, of Hannibal, Missouri, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at his home. Mr. Ward was born July 9, 1954, in St. Louis to Clois D. and Mildred A. Bell Ward. He was married to Sue A. Lane on February 14, 2005, in Black Oak, MO. She survives. Mr. Ward served four years in Missouri Army National Guard. He was self employed and operated a wholesale business. He was also the former manager of Auto Zone in Fulton, Mo. Doug was also a talented auctioneer. He was an animal lover and he loved his four cats that were his babies. Mr. Ward enjoyed visiting cemeteries and was a photo contributor to "Find A Grave.com". He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Hannibal, Mo. Other survivors include four children, Michael Jones of Sturgeon, Mo., Danel Gipson (Kevin) of Branson, Mo., Christina Portell of St. Louis, Mo., Paul Ward (Michelle) of Aurora, Mo.; one brother, Denny Ward (Natalie) of St. Peters, Mo.; one sister, Shirley Denen of St. Louis, Mo., six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Ward. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hannibal. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery. The Family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal . There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Missouri Humane Society in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
