Myrtle Kathryn Shackelford

Myrtle Kathryn Shackelford, 87, of Holts Summit, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013, at Villa Marie in Jefferson City. She was born August 19, 1926, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Lewon Yount and Ezra Mae (Barton) Shackelford. She was united in marriage to Ernest Shackelford on April 14, 1951. He survives at their home. Myrtle worked in housekeeping at Fulton State Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Holts Summit. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Thomas Shackelford and his wife Shirley of Mokane, and Jack Shackelford of Holts Summit; one daughter, Janet Frazier and her husband Ray Sr. of Mokane; five grandchildren, Lori Lamons (Danny) of Mokane, Thomas Shackelford Jr. (Glenda) of Fulton, Ray Frazier Jr. (Patty) of Maine, Dan Frazier of Tebbetts, and Ed Frazier (Victoria) of Fulton; 13 great-grandchildren, Heather (Tyler), Shawn (Maria), Dakota, Jessica (Matt), Danille (Chris), Tabatha (Justin), Deserae, Melissa, Justin, Logan, Hayley, Kim, and Noah; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ryder, Wyatt, Bentley, Nevaeh, Alex, Alyssia, Addison, Lukas, and Alexis. Along with her husband and parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Allen Shackelford and Ernest Charles Shackelford Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Steele officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Mokane Cemetery.
