Freddie Leon Banks, 77, of Fulton, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Callaway Community Hospital. He was born December 25, 1935, in Charleston, the son of the late Claud F. Banks and the late Nellie R. (Galey) Banks. On August 14, 1955, Freddie was united in marriage to D. Evelyn (Venson) Banks, who survives his passing at the home. Freddie was a stationary engineer for the Fulton State Hospital and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his wife, Freddie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two sons, Freddie Banks Jr. of the state of Texas; and Christopher Banks of Fulton; one daughter, Teresa Yancey and husband, Darrell, of Fulton; one brother, Howard Banks and wife, Elizabeth, of Sikeston; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by one son, Russell Banks; and one great-granddaughter, Cheyann Ellermann. Memorial services will be 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Mike Haldeman officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday also at Maupin Funeral Home.
