George Andrew Warden, 94, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. He was born November 29, 1917, one of 10 children of the late Walter Andrew and Betsy Ann (Jeffries) Warden. George was united in marriage to Dorothy Butcher on October 23, 1948 in Callaway County. She survives at their home. No stranger to hard work, George worked many years as a self-employed farmer and logger. He enjoyed puzzles and old-time county music. He was interested in the world around him and always up-to-date on the current news headlines. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and picking wild roots. Left to cherish his memory, are his wife of 63 years; his children, Gary Warden and his wife Mary of Fulton and Dorothy Lee Kleindienst and husband David, also of Fulton; five grandsons, Daniel Kleindienst and wife Camilla of Tennessee, Randall Kleindienst and wife Christine of Fulton, Eric Kleindienst of Fulton, Gabriel Warden of Columbia, and Christopher Warden and wife Heather of Minnesota; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 23 at the funeral home.
