Carol Louese Mills, 70, of Fulton, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Boone Hospital Center. She was born August 19, 1942, in Putnam County, Mo., the daughter of the late Joseph S. Klinginsmith and the late Alta I. (Williamson) Klinginsmith. Carol was raised in Unionville, Mo. and lived in Fulton for the past 37 years. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Carol taught at McIntire Elementary for many years and retired from Fulton Public Schools. Carol was an avid reader and a member of the Callaway County Democratic Club. She was a regular contributor to the Fulton Sun's "Local Voices" column during the 1990s. Her absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren; she often commented that her life really started on the day her first grandson, Jason, was born. Carol will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Wendy McChristy and husband, Ronald Jr., of Grain Valley, and Julie Broeker and husband, Anthony, of Mexico; one stepson, Michael Baumgartner and wife, Cindy, of Fulton; one brother, Ray Klinginsmith and wife, Judie, of Kirksville; one sister, Sara Stockton and husband, V.T., of Blue Springs; seven grandchildren, Jason Moore, Grant and Wyler Broeker, Casey and Cody Baumgartner, and Shea and Skyler McChristy; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by one brother, J.S. "Teddy" Klinginsmith Jr. It was Carol's wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will be 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Millersburg Christian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Callaway County Public Library, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd., Fulton, MO 65251. Online condolences may be shared at MaupinFuneralHome.com
