Virginia "Missy" Talkington Suggett, 72, of Madison, Ind., passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012, at North Collier Hospital, Naples, Fla. Missy entered this life on June 30, 1940 in Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Eugene Vincent and Frances Jean Frazee Talkington. She was raised in Madison, Ind. and was a 1958 graduate of Madison High School. She attended the William Woods College in Fulton and received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri. On April 21, 1962 in Madison, Ind., Missy was united in marriage to Robert R. Suggett. This happy union was blessed with a daughter, Susan Elynn and a son, Robert Eugene. Missy was employed as a elementary teacher at E.O. Muncie in Madison. After becoming a mother, she was devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was the co-owner of Suggett Schmidt Properties in Madison. She was a member and past president of Tri Kappa, member of the Madison Country Club and the Madison Elks Lodge No. 524. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in downtown Madison and had served as president of the board. Missy loved history and trivia, reading, an avid Johnny Cash fan, playing Bridge, enjoyed social events and horses. She is survived by: her husband of fifty one years, Robert R. Suggett of Madison, Ind.; her daughter, Susan Elynn Suggett Schmidt and her husband, Bob of Madison, Ind.; her son, Robert Eugene "Rob" Suggett of Madison, Ind.; her loving grandchildren, Jacob Ray Schmidt, Cody Tyler Schmidt, Sadie Katherine Schmidt, Grant Christian Suggett & Trey Evan Suggett; her uncle, Tom Frazee of Naples, Fla.; her cousins, Suzanne & James Barr, Nancy Frazee & Tom & Beth Frazee. She is preceded in death by: her parents, Eugene Vincent Talkington died, May 17, 1985, and Frances Jean Frazee Talkington died, April 10, 2004. A service is scheduled for Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana The Rev. Greg Russell and The Rev. J. Michael Delaney will officiate. The place of interment will be Springdale Cemetery in downtown Madison, Ind. The time of calling is Thursday from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana The family requests memorials in memory of Missy to the First Christian Church, contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
