Mary Kathryn McGath, 85, went to her heavenly home Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Fulton Nursing & Rehab. She was born June 12, 1927, in Jacksonville, Ill., the daughter of the late Katherine Kemper Green and the late John W. Green. She was united in marriage to Eldred Dale Mitchell and William James McGath, who both preceded her in death. Mary was a member of Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville, IL, and was active in the Christian Jew Foundation. Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Gary Lee Mitchell and wife Marlene of Rock Hill, S.C., Eldred Thomas Mitchell and wife Louise of Fulton, and Theresa Ann Smith and Husband Herb of Auburn, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one brother, John W. Green of Jacksonville, Ill.; and one Sister Dorthy M. Cain of Phoenix, Ariz. In addition to her parents and her husbands, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin L. Green. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m., prior to the service at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton.
