Carolyn A. Durr Crume, 89, of Kokomo, Ind., died Saturday, November 3, 2012, at her home. She was born December 19, 1922, in Miami County, Ind. to Thurston D. and Shirley (Colescott) Peck. On September 24, 1942, Carolyn married Wilford W. Durr, who preceded her in death October 21, 1981. On November 6, 1983, she married Roy L. Crume, who preceded her in death on August 13, 1995. She was an active member of Burlington Church of Christ adult 4-H leader, member of O.E.S. 195, Greentown, Ind. Clay 49'ers Home Extension and First Advantage Travel Club. She was a 1941 graduate of Kokomo High School and attended Kokomo Business Coleege. She was a retiree of Cabot Corp. (Haynes International) and an avid gardener. Preceding her in death are her parents, Thurston and Shirley; husbands, Wilford and Roy; and a son, Denis D. Durr. Surviving are: son, Allen A. (Marsha J.) Durr, Auxvasse; stepson, Thomas D. (Nancy) Crume, Kent, Wash.; step-daughter, Marta J. (Mark) Ward, Stone Mountain, Ga.; three grandchildren, Melanie (John) Brandenburg, Sheridan, Ind., Paul W. (Kalyn) Durr, Grinnell, Iowa, and Ashley A. Durr, Auxvass; five step-grandchildren, Jarod Crume, Dustin Crume, Brynn Ward, Crystal Atterberry, and Richard Atterberry; great-grandchildren, Melia Durr, Sienna Durr, Matayas Durr, Sarah Brandenburg-Jensen and Pandora Atterberry-Walker; a sister, Julia E. Eaton, Lake Wales, Fla.; her sister-in-law, Norma Jean Spangler, Kokomo, Ind.; seven nephews and two nieces; several cousins and a close friend, Cartwright Ellis. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, Ind., 46979, with Pastor David Osborne officiating. Burial followed in the Kokomo Zion Cemetery. Friends were invited to call from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, at the funeral home.
