Edna Mae (McVeigh) Stark, 84, formerly of Fulton, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at Trinity Nursing and Rehab Center in Merriam, Kan. She was born September 20, 1928, in Fulton, Mo., the daughter of the late Claude Lee McVeigh and the late Sophia Martha (Haines) McVeigh. She was married to John Lewis Stark for 46 years to which union were born three children. Edna was a graduate of Fulton Senior High School and Kirksville State Teachers College, receiving her BSE in 1951 and MSE in 1959. She worked as a teacher throughout most of her life in places including a number of rural schools like Lamar and McCredie, the Missouri School for the Deaf, Keokuk, Linn, Westphalia, Center District in Kansas City, Hickman Mills, Glasgow, Breckenridge, and Jamestown. She was a member of the Baptist Church wherever she lived. Her favorite organizations were Eastern Star, Missouri State Teachers' Association, and the Baptist Student Union. She loved to work with kids in Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, 4-H, Job's Daughters, and as volunteer in kindergarten. Edna is missed and lovingly remembered by one son, John Evan Stark and wife Linda of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters Cheryl Rosanne Hibbard and husband Marc of Sedalia, Mo., and Sharon Dale Engleman and husband Kevin of Garden City, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren, Brandy, Joshua, Peter, Benjamin, Cherokee, Faith, David, Aliyah, Erin, Zachariah, and Elizabeth, and a number of beloved relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and foster siblings, Udell McCleery and Gladys Whitcher. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Maupin Funeral Home with graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., on Monday, November 5, 2012, at Ebenezer Cemetery in Fulton with Rev.
