Merlyn J. Bennett (Chapman), 77, of Collinsville, Ill., died on Saturday, May 26, 2012, in Fulton. She was born on April 18, 1935, in east St. Louis, Ill. She owned Ma Kettle's Metals in Collinsville, Ill., for 25 years. She was a member of State Park Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Gary Gene Bennett; her two children, Gary Lynn Bennett and Randy gene Bennett; her parents, John E. And Donna D. (Belden) Chapman; her brother, Bert L. Chapman; and her sister, Ellen B. Harris. Surviving are her three children, Monica A. Webb and friend, Steve Doward of Fulton, Jacqueline R. (Dennis) Crane of Fulton, and Michael H. (Desiree) Bennett of St. Louis; her eleven grandchildren, Brandie Bennett, Tyesha Doward, Felicia Willis, Jeana Peyla, Jeremy Bennett, Nicholas Bennett, Jesse Crane, Kyle Bennett, Alyssa Bennett, Jason Doward, and Kelly Willis; her four great-grandchildren, Dustin Webb, Shyla Schwepe, Tiffany Durham and Gaige Doward; her brother, Joseph E. Chapman; and her sister, Gloria L. Hollen.
