Gerald "Jerry" Braden, 60, died on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in Jefferson City, at his daughter's residence surrounded by family. Jerry was born to Ora Austin Braden and Mary Ruth Pearson Braden on January 25, 1952, in Mexico. Jerry made his career as a Paramedic at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico from 1981-2003. Jerry enjoyed many hobbies, but his passion was playing guitar and singing bluegrass music. He is survived by his parents, Austin and Ruth Braden of Tebbetts; daughters, Pagena Mae Nichols and Cassie LeighAnn May of Jefferson City, Tabitha Ann Braden and Abigail Lea Braden of Mexico; son, Samuel Anthony David Braden of Jefferson City; as well as three grandsons. Jerry's body was donated to science per his request. Come join us in celebrating his life on June 2, 2012, at Teal Lake Park in Mexico. All are welcome to come pay respects to the family from 1-2 p.m. From 2-3 p.m. there will be a service officiated by Brothers, Jerry Ostrom and Chris Atkinson from the Centennial Baptist Church of Mexico, where Jerry was a member. From 3-10 p.m. there will be a potluck BBQ and Bluegrass festival in his honor where all are welcome to jam. The family requests no flowers, however, donations to the Cancer Society, Donate Life and Hospice Compassus will be accepted.
