Daniel Mitchell Dobbins

Daniel Mitchell Dobbins, 87, of Fulton. passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, at New Florence Nursing & Care Center. He was born July 10, 1924, in Hayti, Mo,, the son of the late Dan Dobbins and the late Florence (Garner) Dobbins. On March 19, 1950, Dan was united in marriage to Thelma (Jenkins) Dobbins, who preceded him in death on August 12, 2005. Dan will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons, Danny Dobbins of the Philippines, Dale Dobbins of Millersburg, and Damon Dobbins of Columbia; three daughters, Kay Knipp and husband, Bill, of Auxvasse, Karen Garrett and husband, Rick, of New Florence, and Katrina Kelley and husband, John, of Columbia; one brother, Vernon Dobbins and wife, Gladys, of Hayti; and 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Dan was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Garrett Dobbins, and one great- granddaughter, Lexi Garrett. A graveside service with Military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Jonesburg Cemetery in Jonesburg with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating.
