Anna Maxine Ferrugia

Anna Maxine Ferrugia, 85, of Fulton, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, in her home. She was born April 14, 1927, in Santa Fe, Mo., the daughter of the late Francis Oliver Abell and the late Jewell (Key) Abell. On June 26, 1948, she united in marriage with Frank Joseph Ferrugia. Maxine was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spent much of her life as an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and School. She had many wonderful retired years traveling the country with her husband. She loved spending time in her yard and caring for her flower gardens. Maxine will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four sons, Tony Ferrugia and his wife Pat of Chesterfield, Mike Ferrugia and his wife Kenda of Fulton, Chris Ferrugia and his wife Kathryn of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ed Ferrugia and his wife Tiffany of Kearney; two daughters, Theresa Ferrugia and her husband John Igleheart of Columbia and Mary (Ferrugia) Litty and her husband Bill of Downingtown, Pa; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Lorene Groesch of Springfield, Ill., and Dorothy McGaha, of Wenatchee, Wash.; and other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Joseph Ferrugia; one daughter, Kathryn Ferrugia; one son, Frank Victor Ferrugia; one sister, Bernice (Abell) Ferrugia; and two brothers, Kenny and C.J. Abell. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Frank Bussmann officiating. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 4, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton.
