Stanley Richard Chirnside, 77, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Landmark Hospital. He was born on March 14, 1935, in Fulton, the son of the late Harvey Chirnside and the late Edith (Hoffmeyer) Chirnside. On June 10, 1956, he was united in marriage to Beulah Leigh (Taylor) Chirnside, who preceded him in death on July 21, 2011. Stanley attended Fulton High School and graduated with the class of 1953. He then attended Westminster College and graduated in 1957. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and the Fulton Country Club. Stanley worked at Gasper-Atkinson Truck Stop and Restaurant from 1958-1964. He then began his career at the Callaway Bank, where he was employed for 37 years. Stanley was a member of the Court Street United Methodist Church and served at treasurer from 1964-1997. He was president of the Fulton Jaycees and the Fulton Rotary Club, treasurer of the Callaway chapter of the American Red Cross, and served on the Chamber of Commerce board. Stanley was a recipient of the Atkinson Award and was an ABWA Associate of the Year. Stanley will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter, Leigh Ann Love and husband, Danny of Fulton; and one granddaughter, Danielle Leigh Love of Fulton. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by three sons. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, with Reverend Emily Carroll officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Maupin Funeral Home. Entombment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
