Sara "Ann" Nichols, 77, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at her home. She was born October 12, 1934, in St. Charles, the daughter of the late Frank Meredith Hatcher and the late Mable "Ruth" (Clement) Hatcher. On January 23, 1960, she was united in marriage to Wilford "Nick" Nichols Jr., who preceded her in death. Ann attended the one room schoolhouse in Williamsburg before attending Fulton High School. She started at Gaspers in 1948 in Williamsburg. Ann moved to the new location in 1967 and retired from Gaspers Restaurant in 2004. Ann was also a manicurist at William Woods University in the 1960's, was a housekeeper from 1979 until retirement in 2004. She was a loyal and devoted employee, friend, and loved one. Ann enjoyed crafts, fishing, and animals, especially her kitty cats. She lived in her home of Williamsburg from the time she was born until she passed away. Ann will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Robert "Bob" Lee Belcher of Fortuna; four daughters, Leanne Nichols-Clark and husband Roger of Fulton, Betty Ann Parker and husband Dean of Sullivan; Marge Bastian and husband Craig of Mexico, and Cathy Faulkner and husband Wes of Vichy; 15 grandchildren, Bobby Dale Belcher, Meredith Belcher, Willie Belcher, Candi Belcher, Victoria Riddell, Jon Cantu, Nicklaus Hajzak, Alexander Clark, Brandi Clark-Hicks, Roger Clark Jr., Ronnie Counts, Michael Paul, Mary Ann Briscoe, Chasity Hess, and Charity Lewis; three nephews, Alan McCormack, Calvin McCormack, and Danny McCormack; several special friends, Ann Wilson, Joan Linke, Gary Smith, Genny Eckert, and Pat Jones; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, cousins, and numerous friends. In addition to her parents and her husband of 32 years, she was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Joyce Ann Nichols; one sister, Hettie Lee McCormack; and two nephews, Patrick Dale McCormack and Lindell Glenn McCormack. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Jeremy Polston officiating. Interment will be Williamsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, also at Maupin Funeral Home.
