Edyth Wilson Ferguson Timpone

Edyth Wilson Ferguson Timpone, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, in Westhampton, N.Y. She was born on August 11, 1920, in New Bloomfield, to the late Florence and Robert N. Wilson. She married the late Gene Ferguson, in 1941, until his death in 1970. She later married the late Phillip Timpone, in St. Louis until his death in 2001. Settling in St. Louis with husband Gene, after World War II, she lived there until she moved to Sag Harbor, N.Y., in 2001, to be close to her daughter. During her career, she was a Regional Manager for Field Enterprises, publisher of Worldbook, and was a co-founder of TOPS Optical, Inc. She was a high energy, happy and generous person who excelled at personal relationships with her friends, family and clients. A natural sales talent, she truly never met a stranger. She was known by those who loved her as "Honey". She loved playing cards with her friends, became an avid golfer with frequent trips to Florida and on endless spring days tended to her flowers at her home in Greenbriar Hills. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would do anything to spend yet another day playing, encouraging and loving them. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Dennis McCann, Riverhead, N.Y.; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Chae Ferguson, Overland Park, Kan.; and grandchildren, Kim Vicente, Westhampton, N.Y., Christopher Wilkes, Cheshire, Conn., Justin Wilkes, North Smithfield, R.I., Matthew Ferguson, Fairway, Kan. and Scott Ferguson, Palo Alto, Calif. She is survived by six great-grandchildren. Services will be at Debo Funeral Home in Holt Summit on Saturday, March 10, at 2 p.m., preceded by visitation from 1 - 2 p.m. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in New Bloomfield.
