Eugene "Gene" Lee Wysong, 73, of Fulton, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans' Hospital in Columbia. He was born March 21, 1939, in Ainsworth, Neb., the son of John and Mildred (Langston) Wysong. He was united in marriage to Mansuita "Sita" Pollo on July 29, 1988 in the Phillipines. She survives at their home. Gene served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a self-employed truck driver who truly loved his job. He also enjoyed fishing the Auxvasse Creek. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sita; son, Eugene D. Wysong and wife Merly of Williamsburg; daughter, Sharon Gaye and husband George of Fulton; brother, Bill Wysong of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Sara and Debbie Wysong, James Gaye, Margaret and Meganne Wysong, Anastasia and Aristides Georgopoulos, and Maria Fischer; and two great-grandchildren, Trysten and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret Wysong; brother, Lloyd Wysong; and two children, Gavin Wysong and Elaine Alspaw. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment with military honors will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
