Zane Thompson Lee

Spc. Zane Thompson Lee, 20, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, in Indianapolis, Ind., surrounded by his loving family and comrades. He was born January 9, 1992, in Columbia to John and Cecilia Wolfmeier Lee. He was involved in Scouting and, in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, he received his Eagle Scout in 2009. He began his military service in 2009 with the U. S. Army Reserves 7228 Medical Support Unit in Columbia. He was a 2010 graduate of Hickman High School and was accepted to Columbia College on May 31, 2012. Survivors include: his parents; his sister, Jordan; his fiancÈe, Katelyn Cockrell and her family, Jerry, April, and Kortney Cockrell; grandparents, Charles and Carol Lee of Columbia; and Gene and Edith Wolfmeier of Fulton; great-grandfather, Raymond Lee of Columbia; uncles, Jim Lee and wife, Christy of Centralia, Mike Lee and wife, Wendy of Pfafftown, N. C.; Mike Wolfmeier and wife, Dianne of Fulton; cousins, Boone, Britlyn and Piper Lee of Centralia, Regan and Chase Lee of Pfafftown and Kalyn and Bryce Wolfmeier of Fulton; and his canine companion, Jack. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Lavenia Lee. Services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Columbia Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, and from Noon until the time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mid-Missouri Honor Flight, Boy Scouts of America - Great Rivers Council, Central Missouri Humane Society or the U. S.
