Bessie Richmond

Bessie L. Richmond, 99, of Fulton, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Fulton Manor. She was born April 7, 1912, the daughter of Nathan and Luella (Brooks) Hubbard. Bessie was a member of St. James United Methodist Church where she was on the Usher Board, at one time serving as President. She was a member of the United Women's Organization, where she also served as President. She was a member of Willing Workers and Alexander Art Study Club. She served in various volunteer positions in the community. Bessie and her husband owned and operated Richmond Construction and Excavating. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her son, Lavore Richmond Sr. of Fulton; five grandchildren, Lavore Richmond Jr. and wife Susan of Fredricksburg, Va., Kevin Richmond and wife Rayna of Seattle, Wash., Nathan Richmond Jr. of Kankakee, Ill., Gloria Richmond of Fulton, and Richard Powell of Kankakee, Ill.; and five great-grandchildren Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvin H. Richmond; one daughter, Billie Taylor; three sons, Nathan Richmond Sr., Lewis Richmond, and James Agee; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Richmond; and one son-in-law, Frank Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at St. James United Methodist Church with Pastor Joseph D. La Prise officiating. Interment will follow in White Cloud Cemetery.
