Harry H. Rice, 85, of Fulton passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012, at The Neighborhoods by Tiger Place in Columbia. He was born November 15, 1926, in Guthrie, the son of Roger and Elizabeth (Phillips) Rice. Harry was united in marriage to Selma Irene Lill on December 7, 1946, in Kelheim, Germany. She preceded him in death on July 12, 1973. He was united in marriage to Joan Kniepfel on May 10, 1974, in Fulton. She survives at their home. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a Plant Engineer at Missouri School for the Deaf. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was involved in many activities. Along with his wife Joan, he is survived by three sons, Roger Rice of Fulton, Robert Rice of Lenexa, Kan., and Gary Kniepfel and wife Michele of Springfield, Mo.; daughter Gina Gould and husband Bob of Fulton; brother, Irvin Rice and wife Carol of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; six brothers; and two sisters. A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 25, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Jamie Coty officiating. Interment was at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
